BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS: PART I.

Hey- remember me?

I have not posted a blog in weeks due to school. I’m taking 4 classes, and all are really challenging to say the least. I have been swamped with work, group projects, and when I’m not at school all I want to do is watch Real Housewives. This semester is off to a hard start, so I can’t imagine how exhausted I’m going to be come November and December. Ugh.

But enough about that- my 25th birthday is only a few days away {on the 30th} and this past weekend I celebrated it early! I hung out in San Francisco one day, and the next I took a day trip up to Sonoma County. The weather was perfect and sunny both days! I am already planning my next visit to Sonoma, because there’s still a lot more I want to see.

Here are a few pictures from San Francisco:

Here are a few pictures wine tasting and exploring Sonoma:

  • HEALDSBURG SHED

  • FERRARI-CARANO VINEYARDS & WINERY

I even went to Ford Cappola Winery- but I didn’t take any good pictures except for the outside & sipping on a cocktail by the pool bar! By then, I was too tipsy to focus on taking pictures!

I had such a beautiful weekend. I am looking forward to celebrating again with my family (and most importantly, my twin sister). Stay tuned for Birthday Celebrations Part II!

EATING IN THE CITY.

One of my favorite things to do is trying new places to eat. I’m huge on aesthetics/decor when it comes to restaurants or cafes. How do I find the cute gems if it’s not a recommendation from a friend? I use Yelp! No, seriously. Yelp never really disappoints- and I use it ALL THE TIME. Who doesn’t use Yelp nowadays?

This past week I hit up 3 adorable places, one being a cafe. I thought I’d share, just in case anyone wanted to try these places out. They are all in San Francisco.

  • PALM HOUSE. (cow hollow)

What did I order? Huevos Rancheros. Worth it? Beyond worth it, so freakin’ good. Not pictured, but try the Caribbean Iced Coffee- oh my.

  • SOUVLA. (NOPA)

What did I order? Pork salad, Greek fries & a glass of Rosé. Worth it? Absolutely! This huge bowl of salad filled me up, and they were not stingy with the pork. SO DELICIOUS. It had fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, kale, pickled red onions, and feta cheese. I’m totally going back- and the great thing is they have multiple locations in the city!

  • THE MILL. (NOPA/alamo square)

What did I order? Latte & cinnamon toast! Is it worth it? Yes, if you love a fancy latte & a place to come relax/ hang out with a friend/ do some schoolwork. They make all their loaves fresh (yum) and even have pizza night from 6-9pm every evening (which I haven’t had… yet).

Do you have any recommendations for me- not just in San Francisco, but in the Bay Area? I would also love some spots in Los Angeles (since I visit frequently)! Stay tuned for more Eating in the City posts.

Padrecito: EATING IN THE CITY.

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. I went to a delicious Mexican restaurant in Cole Valley yesterday, and had to share my experience. I LOVE good Mexican food, and if you do too- you have to try this place!

I decided to get the carnitas tacos, and it was magical. OH MY GOSH. The carnitas were juicy and so flavorful. The habanero slaw and guacamole were out of this world! As I’m typing this post, my mouth is watering.

There is outdoor seating, seating in the main area, and to the back there is a full bar & more tables. Customer service was good- no complaints. There wasn’t a wait time to get seated Sunday around noon, the server took us as soon as we walked in (which is always so nice when you’re starving!) I highly recommend Padrecito! If you have any food recommendations in the city (bay area in general), let me know! I love trying new places.

tony’s pizza napoletana: the best pizza!

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are doing well. I went on a date with my boyfriend on Sunday, to San Francisco’s north beach neighborhood, for some dinner. Dex took me to this cute restaurant called Tony’s Pizza Napoletana. They are very well known for their pizza and meatballs! The wait was around 30 minutes but before we knew it, we got a table outside. IMG_7040

I wanted to start with the “little Italy” salad, and I have to say it was SO SO GOOD. Also, big enough to share with Dex. Mmmm mmm.

Of course I ordered some sparkling rose! My favorite!

Next we shared a meatball. The meatballs are HUGE, we both had a few bites, but had to take the rest home since we wanted to save room for our pizza! I’m telling you, if you ever come here… GET THE MEATBALL with the cream mushroom sauce on top, not on the side. There are NO words to describe this meatball, it was so rich in flavor, tender and juicy. It was a true foodie moment.

Lastly, is the margherita pizza. There are no words for this deliciousness. I told my boyfriend, it was the best pizza I have ever tasted- and he agreed! SO GOOD. Better than pizza I’ve had in New York! I mean, it isn’t award winning pizza for nothing.

This is a new favorite spot of ours! My parents are coming up from Southern California to visit this weekend, and we are definitely taking them here. I think they are going to enjoy it so much. It makes me happy showing my family new places that Dexter and I discover and love.

If you are ever visiting SF, check this spot out! You won’t regret it. If you enjoyed this foodie review, and want more, let me know.

Talk to you later, xo

big news: my twin sister is engaged!

I’m so excited to share some amazing news that happened over the weekend. My fraternal twin sister got engaged to her boyfriend! What she thought was just a weekend of visiting me, my boyfriend and our little sister- turned out to be the best weekend of her life!

Her boyfriend, now fiancé, James, texted us all about his big plans and wanted us all there when he popped the question! I’m so thankful he included us on their special day. It is something I’ll cherish forever.

We started the morning going to our favorite cafe and eating brunch. Rose’s Cafe is so delicious, I knew we had to go there first.

Next, we took a drive past the Golden Gate Bridge, past San Rafael to this place called Marshall. My boyfriend and I took them to this very spot, last January and it was a huge hit! They have a little restaurant on the side of the road called The Marshall Store & they sell mouth-watering oysters and clam chowder. We ordered our food, sat at a table outside and enjoyed some beers overlooking Tomales Bay. The weather was stunning- breezy, yet sunny. We ate, talked, laughed and enjoyed ourselves. We wanted to drive back down to a place called Tomales Bay Trailhead to take pictures (like we did last year), they have open pastures where cows roam free and it’s beautiful.

My sister and James were posing for pictures and then he decided he wanted to go to the top of a hill, for more “pictures”. After hiking up a little hill, and seeing cows grazing on grass it was finally the spot he wanted. She thought it was time for more pictures, but instead he started his “proposal speech”. She was so shocked, and I got everything on camera. My little sister took amazing pictures, and I wanted to share some.

There wasn’t a dry eye at the end of the proposal! I am so happy for my sister and soon-to-be brother! It was such a beautiful day. Her ring is to die for, he did such a good job! I couldn’t be more excited for wedding planning. Stay tuned.

brunching at rose’s cafe.

Hi all! I’m back from my trip to LA. It was fun and always such a great time seeing my twin sister. I love spending time with her, even if it’s just watching tv. Since I live so far away from her, we enjoy any time that we have together, and don’t take it for granted. She’s planning a trip to visit me sometime in the beginning of January, so I’m crossing my fingers I’ll see her again very soon.

We’ve been home since Monday, and decided to take Lola Mae to the Golden Gate Park, and get something to eat afterwards. Ever since we have moved to the bay area, we LOVE going to the GG Park. It’s Lola’s absolute favorite. We walked around for an hour or so, then drove to one of my favorite cafes, called Rose’s Cafe. It’s in Cow Hollow/Marina area. The food is always amazing, and it’s pet friendly- they have bistro tables & chairs in the front and on the side of the restaurant. I was so shocked Lola was such a good girl. She’s not used to eating out with me and Dexter. But she sat on my lap the whole time like a good girl! She got rewarded with some bacon.

I ordered some coffee, and the french toast with glazed apples. (SO GOOD!) Dexter ordered the breakfast pizza that has an egg, and ham on it (a restaurant fav). I gave him half of my french toast, and I got two slices of his pizza. AMAZING. The best of both worlds! CW9HDQcUsAAurXhCW9HDQdU0AAAfpF

If you’re ever in San Francisco, I highly recommend this cute little spot. The food is just so good, and it’s in such a cute area. My twin already requested that we go here when she visits, and I’m so looking forward to it already.

xoxo
