Eloise’s first time to San Francisco

D2Jco6rUwAAWd3w

This past weekend we went to San Francisco and the weather was absolutely perfect: sunny & warm. We ate at Souvla, and if  you haven’t been there before, you have to go! I like to go to the Alamo Square location, it has a nice outdoor patio! We both got pork salads, greek fries to share, and frozen greek yogurt with baklava crumbles. SO GOOD. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I wish they had locations throughout California (it’s only in SF)!

We then decided to walk to Alamo Square and enjoy the views. I just love San Francisco. It’s our favorite city for sure, and I’m just glad we got to show Ellie! I know she won’t remember, but that’s not the point! I’m just grateful that we get to make memories as a family.

Dex and I are trying to venture out of the house a lot more, since Eloise is such a good girl! Now that she’s almost 4 months old, we’ve pretty much got the hang of Ellie and her cues. We’re really thankful she’s such a good baby! 🙂 *proud parents*

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week & happy first day of Spring! Yay!

EATING IN THE CITY.

One of my favorite things to do is trying new places to eat. I’m huge on aesthetics/decor when it comes to restaurants or cafes. How do I find the cute gems if it’s not a recommendation from a friend? I use Yelp! No, seriously. Yelp never really disappoints- and I use it ALL THE TIME. Who doesn’t use Yelp nowadays?

This past week I hit up 3 adorable places, one being a cafe. I thought I’d share, just in case anyone wanted to try these places out. They are all in San Francisco.

  • PALM HOUSE. (cow hollow)

What did I order? Huevos Rancheros. Worth it? Beyond worth it, so freakin’ good. Not pictured, but try the Caribbean Iced Coffee- oh my.

  • SOUVLA. (NOPA)

What did I order? Pork salad, Greek fries & a glass of Rosé. Worth it? Absolutely! This huge bowl of salad filled me up, and they were not stingy with the pork. SO DELICIOUS. It had fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, kale, pickled red onions, and feta cheese. I’m totally going back- and the great thing is they have multiple locations in the city!

  • THE MILL. (NOPA/alamo square)

What did I order? Latte & cinnamon toast! Is it worth it? Yes, if you love a fancy latte & a place to come relax/ hang out with a friend/ do some schoolwork. They make all their loaves fresh (yum) and even have pizza night from 6-9pm every evening (which I haven’t had… yet).

Do you have any recommendations for me- not just in San Francisco, but in the Bay Area? I would also love some spots in Los Angeles (since I visit frequently)! Stay tuned for more Eating in the City posts.

BARCELONA.

March 31st- April 4th I made my way to Barcelona. Originally, Spain wasn’t on my list of places I was going to see… but all of my friends kept raving about how gorgeous the city was. So, I said to myself, “why not go?”

The city truly is beautiful, I loved hearing people speaking Spanish & English. The hostel that we stayed at was called MEDITERRANEAN YOUTH HOSTEL. I highly recommend this hostel, as it’s a short metro ride to everything. The staff were very helpful and gave us a map of fun things to see/do, and even gave us recommendations of places to eat. The day we got to Barcelona I had to get some beer, paella, and tapas. We went to a place called BCN Birres i Tapes. It was so GOOD & affordable.

This trip I really wanted to relax, and not jam-pack my day with things to do. I wanted to just walk around the city, eat, and have fun. It worked out perfectly!

Here are some great shots I got in Barcelona:

It rained a little bit when we were there, but for the most part it was sunny & warm! I would love to go back to Spain and explore more of Barcelona, and actually make my way to Madrid, Valencia, Granada, and Ibiza.

We went to Granada Familia, Montjuïc Castle, Parc de la Ciutadella, walked along the beach, went to some clubs, and made friends at our hostel. The Gothic Quarter is also super fun to walk around! Barcelona was everything my friends told me it was, and I was not disappointed! My bloodline on my father’s side is Spanish, so it was fun being in a place where my ancestors came from.

Next trip is probably going to be my last trip, sadly. I’ve had so much fun in Europe, it’s been an absolute dream. I’m forever grateful for these memories and trips.

Padrecito: EATING IN THE CITY.

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. I went to a delicious Mexican restaurant in Cole Valley yesterday, and had to share my experience. I LOVE good Mexican food, and if you do too- you have to try this place!

FOOD:CoJ5K2WUMAApHdS

I decided to get the carnitas tacos, and it was magical. OH MY GOSH. The carnitas were juicy and so flavorful. The habanero slaw and guacamole were out of this world! As I’m typing this post, my mouth is watering.

There is outdoor seating, seating in the main area, and to the back there is a full bar & more tables. Customer service was good- no complaints. There wasn’t a wait time to get seated Sunday around noon, the server took us as soon as we walked in (which is always so nice when you’re starving!) I highly recommend Padrecito! If you have any food recommendations in the city (bay area in general), let me know! I love trying new places.

brunching at rose’s cafe.

Hi all! I’m back from my trip to LA. It was fun and always such a great time seeing my twin sister. I love spending time with her, even if it’s just watching tv. Since I live so far away from her, we enjoy any time that we have together, and don’t take it for granted. She’s planning a trip to visit me sometime in the beginning of January, so I’m crossing my fingers I’ll see her again very soon.

We’ve been home since Monday, and decided to take Lola Mae to the Golden Gate Park, and get something to eat afterwards. Ever since we have moved to the bay area, we LOVE going to the GG Park. It’s Lola’s absolute favorite. We walked around for an hour or so, then drove to one of my favorite cafes, called Rose’s Cafe. It’s in Cow Hollow/Marina area. The food is always amazing, and it’s pet friendly- they have bistro tables & chairs in the front and on the side of the restaurant. I was so shocked Lola was such a good girl. She’s not used to eating out with me and Dexter. But she sat on my lap the whole time like a good girl! She got rewarded with some bacon.

I ordered some coffee, and the french toast with glazed apples. (SO GOOD!) Dexter ordered the breakfast pizza that has an egg, and ham on it (a restaurant fav). I gave him half of my french toast, and I got two slices of his pizza. AMAZING. The best of both worlds! CW9HDQcUsAAurXhCW9HDQdU0AAAfpF

If you’re ever in San Francisco, I highly recommend this cute little spot. The food is just so good, and it’s in such a cute area. My twin already requested that we go here when she visits, and I’m so looking forward to it already.
