Two years of consistently blogging has been such a huge accomplishment! I didn’t have any expectations starting this blog- I just wanted to do it as a creative outlet. I love writing, it’s such a passion of mine. I enjoy writing about all sorts of things: my favorite restaurants in the city, my traveling experiences, fashion, product reviews and even sometimes about my personal life.

So to those of you who’ve read and commented on my blog- thank you. I appreciate you stopping by, and taking the time out of your day to read my blog posts. It really does make my day!

I’m almost done with the semester, I wrap things up on the 19th of December, and at this point it really couldn’t come sooner. I’m stressed out- so much to do because it’s the home stretch. So I’m trying to stay on top of all my assignments, so I can pass my classes and graduate next fall. Fingers crossed!!

I think December is going to be an exciting blog month! I have so many ideas planned: Christmas wish list, winter break book list, vacation must-do’s in Maui (because I’m going there in January!!!), and more! So stick around…

winter dresses: wishlist.

I love wearing dresses in the fall and winter. Pair it with some tights & cute boots- my favorite.

Here are a few dresses I would love to have in my closet:

(I actually purchased this dress! The back is adorable. I can’t wait to get it in the mail!)

dress5Marova Maxi Dress from Anthropologie.

This is just a fun dress I had to share! I obviously don’t have the budget to spend over $300 on a dress. It’s gorgeous to look at though- a girl can dream!

dress6Eastberry Dress from Anthropologie.

This dress is so dreamy! Love.

I can’t believe it’s been one whole year since I started blogging. It feels so good that I have reached my goal of writing consistently for a year. No matter how busy life got, I made sure I wrote at least 3 blog posts for the month. I actually went back to read my first blog post, which you can read here.

So much has happened since then! I’m in a different place in life…. and thank goodness for growth and change. Some of the obvious changes: I am now twenty-four years old. I am studying at SF State. I am in a new apartment (we moved this past weekend) but still living in the Bay Area. Lola Mae is now 8 years old (insert crying emoji). Fall semester is wrapping up in 3.5 weeks! I can’t even begin to tell you guys how STRESSED out I am about upcoming finals & final grades being posted in January. I really need to get a certain GPA for something exciting coming in the future…. I’ll be sure to fill you in. So for now, school is very stressful!

There have also been other huge changes in my life. But, I’m not ready to dive right in & talk about them yet. But I’m sure you can get the idea:

For those of you who have read my blog, have posted comments on my blog— thank you so much. It means a lot to me. I didn’t do this blog for the views, it’s more of a personal creative outlet. But knowing someone out there reads it, and likes the content makes me happy.

Here’s to year TWO of blogging! Stay tuned.

five things that make me happy, #5.

  1. New workout clothes.
  2. Sunny days!
  3. Spending time with my sisters.
  4. Finding new books to read.
  5. Long weekends!

I have some pretty exciting news to share, but if you follow me on instagram you probably have an idea of what I’m going to announce. I hope everyone had an amazing long weekend & a happy Valentine’s Day! See you in my next blog post.

social media: the addiction is real.

Lately, I’ve been sharing less of my personal life on my instagram page. I didn’t announce that I recently got a new job (in retail), or how I’ve been focusing on working out and school. I haven’t talked about my Prolactinoma, or some other huge personal issues I’m dealing with. The reason for that? Well, sometimes very personal things are meant to be kept private. I’ve made the effort not to share as much, because most people don’t truly care. They follow me to be nosy, or don’t have good intentions.

I love social media, probably too much. But I’m trying to live in the moment, and disconnect myself from “social media world”. I want to try and be happy without it, or stop feeling the need to share my every move, every struggle, every accomplishment, every meal, etc. I got accepted into SFSU this upcoming fall semester, and I didn’t announce it on my instagram. I didn’t feel the need to.

The thing is, I don’t care what others are doing. They can share everything- or nothing at all. I just have this personal goal, of maybe sharing less and trying to enjoy life without my phone glued to my hand 24/7. I remember the days when I didn’t even have a cell phone. The days before Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram changed the way of human interaction. I want to live a simpler life, and the goal would be to try and limit myself to spending time on my phone. The saddest part about it is, my phone is the first thing I grab for in the morning. It’s also the last thing I touch before I shut my eyes at night. (and I know many others do it too)

I guess it’s a little contradictory, since I do have a Facebook, Twitter, Blog, YouTube, and Instagram. Maybe I feel this way because life is so short, and I don’t think I’m truly taking full advantage of it. I might be rambling, and I may not make sense to you, but these are some of the thoughts I’ve been having lately.

I watched this movie called The Human Experience, a few years ago and it’s brilliant. It doesn’t talk about social media, but it does take you on a journey and shows you what’s truly important in life. Its a documentary that makes you think about the meaning of life, and the bigger picture. I highly recommend it. Check it out here.

Do you feel the same way? Do you think people are too engrossed in social media? Do you miss the times before social media? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. I am so excited to start blogging again.

I’ll tell you a little bit about myself…

I am twenty-three years old. I turned twenty-three in September. I am a full-time college student, majoring in Marketing. I have a seven year old Yorkshire Terrier named Lola Mae, who is the love of my life. I have a cute boyfriend named Dexter, and we just celebrated four years together on the 19th of November (just a few days ago). I have been living in Northern California for three years now, and am originally from Los Angeles. What brought me to Northern California? Well, my boyfriend got a job transfer to San Francisco, and we love new adventures, so we took it. So far we have really enjoyed our time up here, and don’t have any plans to move back down to Southern California…. yet. I used to blog on “blogger” back in 2009- life got in the way and I eventually stopped. What are some of my hobbies? Well, I’m a huge foodie. I love going on yelp, looking up new places to eat, and trying them out with my boyfriend (he’s a huge foodie as well). I love to read, I love watching television (mostly reality t.v. because it’s the best), cooking, traveling, taking photos, and I want to make blogging a hobby again.

This is Lola, she is a spoiled little Yorkie, I got her when I was sixteen years old. I’m obsessed with her, and I’m convinced she’s the cutest thing in the world. I can’t imagine life without this little girl. A little bit about Lola Mae… she loves going to the park, puppuccinos from Starbucks, barking at squirrels, her squeaky toys, and sitting on my lap. She hates: wearing any type of clothing (she’s a huge tomboy!), vacuums, and isn’t too fond of children. You’ll be seeing a lot of Lola, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be mentioning her a lot too!

I am hoping to get my blog up and running soon, still trying to figure out how to set it up. Thank you for stopping by.
