2 YEARS OF BLOGGING!

LAST WEEK WAS KRYSTAL IN THE CITY’S 2nd BLOGGING ANNIVERSARY!

Two years of consistently blogging has been such a huge accomplishment! I didn’t have any expectations starting this blog- I just wanted to do it as a creative outlet. I love writing, it’s such a passion of mine. I enjoy writing about all sorts of things: my favorite restaurants in the city, my traveling experiences, fashion, product reviews and even sometimes about my personal life.

So to those of you who’ve read and commented on my blog- thank you. I appreciate you stopping by, and taking the time out of your day to read my blog posts. It really does make my day!

I’m almost done with the semester, I wrap things up on the 19th of December, and at this point it really couldn’t come sooner. I’m stressed out- so much to do because it’s the home stretch. So I’m trying to stay on top of all my assignments, so I can pass my classes and graduate next fall. Fingers crossed!!

I think December is going to be an exciting blog month! I have so many ideas planned: Christmas wish list, winter break book list, vacation must-do’s in Maui (because I’m going there in January!!!), and more! So stick around…

BIRTHDAY MONTH: WISH LIST.

IT’S SEPTEMBER!

Didn’t August just fly right on by? Since I was so busy, I hardly had any time to blog. Also, with school starting- it’s been hectic. I’m officially a college SENIOR! It’s been a long time coming! “One more year left” is what I keep repeating to myself when things become too overwhelming. Although I CANNOT wait to be done- I’m going to try and savor the last moments of being a college student. {it’s been so nice to make my own schedule & not working}

Besides that- It’s my BIRTHDAY MONTH! I am turning 25 years old on the 30th! Now that is something I cannot wrap my head around.  Mid-twenties. WHAT? A lot of people I know are having babies, getting married, have “adult” jobs, and  it’s just crazy to think that this is an age where these things start happening. But I’m looking forward to twenty-five! I’m curious what new things I’ll do this year/ where life will take me.

Here are some cute things I’d like to have/ or really like at the moment:

SPERRY QUILTED DUCK BOOTS.

PATAGONIA WOMEN’S COTTON QUILT HOODY.

PATAGONIA WOMEN’S CLEAN COLOR SWEATSHIRT.

VASQUE BREEZE HIKING BOOTS.

THE NORTH FACE ISABELLA DAYPACK.

Notice a theme? I really want to get more involved outdoors: hiking, camping, etc. I need a pair of hiking boots! So that would be an amazing gift!

ONE YEAR BLOGGING ANNIVERSARY!

tumblr_o1wxxdbbuk1rzqwbqo1_500

I can’t believe it’s been one whole year since I started blogging. It feels so good that I have reached my goal of writing consistently for a year. No matter how busy life got, I made sure I wrote at least 3 blog posts for the month. I actually went back to read my first blog post, which you can read here.

So much has happened since then! I’m in a different place in life…. and thank goodness for growth and change. Some of the obvious changes: I am now twenty-four years old. I am studying at SF State. I am in a new apartment (we moved this past weekend) but still living in the Bay Area. Lola Mae is now 8 years old (insert crying emoji). Fall semester is wrapping up in 3.5 weeks! I can’t even begin to tell you guys how STRESSED out I am about upcoming finals & final grades being posted in January. I really need to get a certain GPA for something exciting coming in the future…. I’ll be sure to fill you in. So for now, school is very stressful!

There have also been other huge changes in my life. But, I’m not ready to dive right in & talk about them yet. But I’m sure you can get the idea:

For those of you who have read my blog, have posted comments on my blog— thank you so much. It means a lot to me. I didn’t do this blog for the views, it’s more of a personal creative outlet. But knowing someone out there reads it, and likes the content makes me happy.

Here’s to year TWO of blogging! Stay tuned.

review: kerastase paris resistance shampoo & masque.

cxw6mhovqaakym7

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a review, and Influenster was kind enough to send me the Kerastase Transforms voxbox. The box comes with a shampoo & hair masque (so awesome)! Before receiving this box, I can say I have never tried this brand before- but I’ve heard about it. I love trying out new brands.

I showered the next day, to test these products out…. and fell in love. First off, the smell of these products is divine. The directions say: use the shampoo & then rise. Next, put the hair masque on & let it sit for about 5 minutes, then rinse. My hair instantly felt smoother and softer, while I was washing it out. (i love that feeling!)

The resistance line is meant for damaged hair, so if you use heat tools or damaged your hair from dyeing it- this line is for you.

After my hair air dried it felt very soft, nourished, smooth, and smelled SO GOOD. I am going to purchase these at my local Target after I use them all up. The quality of these hair products is worth the money you’d spend (they are more than your average drug store shampoo). I have used them for about 2 weeks now, and I felt it was enough time to give my honest review.  You can find the hair masque here.

If you are curious on trying these out- I say go for it! It wouldn’t hurt to try out a bottle of shampoo to see if you like it!

review: suave professionals refresh & revive dry shampoo.

CqqVPqPUAAAWn2o

Influenster sent me this purple box to test out- how cute is this?! Inside is a Suave refresh & revive dry shampoo!

CqqVPqJUEAAeH0_

Dry shampoo is a favorite product of mine for many reasons. Not only does it add lots volume to your hair, it saves you time & energy not having to wash it everyday. It’s a WIN/WIN!

CqBLDjoUIAAtLSd

I loved the way this particular dry shampoo smelled. It has a fresh/floral scent! It absorbs oil, and doesn’t weigh my hair down like some other products have in the past. I have thick and wavy hair (just as a reference): this product worked amazing for me.

CqffYuSVMAEDWi0

I love my hair, and I try my hardest for it to look healthy and shiny. I don’t wash my hair everyday (unless I absolutely have to), but I do have really oily hair naturally- so this dry shampoo has been a life savor!

Thank you Influenster for sending me this dry shampoo!

review: marc jacobs glow stick.

I’m so excited for this post! Influenster sent out Marc Jacobs Glow Sticks, that are to DIE for. I am a huge fan of Marc Jacobs & his beauty line (amazing products) so I was very excited when Influenster generously sent me this box.

Ck8p67KUUAEmDSK

First off, the packaging…. is just so BEAUTIFUL! Sleek, simple, classic. I can’t get over how good the quality is. Easy to use, all you have to do is take the top off and twist for the product to come up.

Ck8p67KUkAA4YTu Ck8p6_4UkAA1zgC

You can put the product on directly, or use a brush/beauty blender for a more natural finish. Put it on your cupids bow, bridge of your nose, your eyebrow bone and/or on top of your cheekbones for a beautiful glow! In the pictures below I put it on my arm & hand to show the beautiful product.

Ck8jW12XIAA9V8UCk8p69nVEAAUvMi

I absolutely love the color, it’s a beautiful pearl finish with gold and silver pigments. I cannot wait to use this for a date night, and add a little touch of glamour for my everyday makeup look! I’ve tried a ton of highlighters/illuminators & this is by far my favorite! Thank you influenster & Marc Jacobs for this beautiful glow stick. I approve!

new hair: time for some change.

Happy MAY!

I’ve been a little MIA… as I’ve been busy with school, trying to focus on myself and not super inspired to write lately. I’ve been feeling a little anxious and just trying to do my best not to get into these weird funks, but that’s life.

As another month comes and goes, I’m looking forward to a lot this month. My little sister is turning 20 years old, spring semester ends (omg, couldn’t come sooner), and my twin sister graduates from university! So that means I get to see my family in L.A. the end of the month. YAY!

But there has been a good change, yesterday (the 1st of May) I decided to chop off some of my hair. I love the way it looks, and I love change. This is a before: my hair is super long.

ChZcQC8UoAEJbpT ChZcQC_UgAA_0aW

This is after:

Chav_XlU0AAt63C

I cut off about 6-7 inches. I feel a lot better, airy and light! I want to go shorter eventually, but I really need to lose some weight first, as I don’t want my little round face to look so chunky. (haha!)

I hope everyone has a great week! I am counting down the days until spring semester is over. Finals are right around the corner, and I need to do good in my statistics class so I can move on and go to university this fall! That is my MAIN goal right now, and where I’m putting all of my focus.
