I love wearing dresses in the fall and winter. Pair it with some tights & cute boots- my favorite.

Here are a few dresses I would love to have in my closet:

(I actually purchased this dress! The back is adorable. I can’t wait to get it in the mail!)

dress5Marova Maxi Dress from Anthropologie.

This is just a fun dress I had to share! I obviously don’t have the budget to spend over $300 on a dress. It’s gorgeous to look at though- a girl can dream!

This dress is so dreamy! Love.

thanksgiving 2016.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with their loved ones. I didn’t spend it with my family, sadly. But I did spend it with Dexter; we went to see a movie & then ate dinner at my favorite restaurant in Sausalito. It was a great day!

I’m thankful for so many things. My family + their endless amounts of love & support, Lola Mae, my health, being able to get an education at an amazing university, living in a beautiful city, and the future! There are some exciting things in store & I can’t wait to share them with you all. Give me about a month!

On our way to Sausalito: This view NEVER gets old. How gorgeous is the Golden Gate Bridge?

The view from Le Garage, my favorite.

They served a 3 course meal: pumpkin soup (so good), turkey + mashed potatoes + green beans (mmmm), and then for dessert I got the pumpkin crème brûlée (not pictured). OH GOSH, I was so stuffed by the end of dinner.

How was your Thanksgiving? Now we are one step closer to Christmas! YAY! I love this time of year.

I can’t believe it’s been one whole year since I started blogging. It feels so good that I have reached my goal of writing consistently for a year. No matter how busy life got, I made sure I wrote at least 3 blog posts for the month. I actually went back to read my first blog post, which you can read here.

So much has happened since then! I’m in a different place in life…. and thank goodness for growth and change. Some of the obvious changes: I am now twenty-four years old. I am studying at SF State. I am in a new apartment (we moved this past weekend) but still living in the Bay Area. Lola Mae is now 8 years old (insert crying emoji). Fall semester is wrapping up in 3.5 weeks! I can’t even begin to tell you guys how STRESSED out I am about upcoming finals & final grades being posted in January. I really need to get a certain GPA for something exciting coming in the future…. I’ll be sure to fill you in. So for now, school is very stressful!

There have also been other huge changes in my life. But, I’m not ready to dive right in & talk about them yet. But I’m sure you can get the idea:

For those of you who have read my blog, have posted comments on my blog— thank you so much. It means a lot to me. I didn’t do this blog for the views, it’s more of a personal creative outlet. But knowing someone out there reads it, and likes the content makes me happy.

Here’s to year TWO of blogging! Stay tuned.

review: kerastase paris resistance shampoo & masque.

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a review, and Influenster was kind enough to send me the Kerastase Transforms voxbox. The box comes with a shampoo & hair masque (so awesome)! Before receiving this box, I can say I have never tried this brand before- but I’ve heard about it. I love trying out new brands.

I showered the next day, to test these products out…. and fell in love. First off, the smell of these products is divine. The directions say: use the shampoo & then rise. Next, put the hair masque on & let it sit for about 5 minutes, then rinse. My hair instantly felt smoother and softer, while I was washing it out. (i love that feeling!)

The resistance line is meant for damaged hair, so if you use heat tools or damaged your hair from dyeing it- this line is for you.

After my hair air dried it felt very soft, nourished, smooth, and smelled SO GOOD. I am going to purchase these at my local Target after I use them all up. The quality of these hair products is worth the money you’d spend (they are more than your average drug store shampoo). I have used them for about 2 weeks now, and I felt it was enough time to give my honest review.  You can find the hair masque here.

If you are curious on trying these out- I say go for it! It wouldn’t hurt to try out a bottle of shampoo to see if you like it!

*I was given this box complimentary of Influenster for testing/reviewing purposes, all opinions are my own.

my twin sister got married!

One week ago, my twin sister married the love of her life. It was a gorgeous intimate wedding in Santa Barbara. The weather was perfect: in the 70s & sunny.

The bride & her girls getting beautified!

She looked stunning in her dress, it fit her like a glove.

Giving my maid of honor speech to the newlyweds! The reception was held at an Irish Pub in downtown Santa Barbara, the food was amazing. If you ever go to Dargan’s, I highly recommend getting the Shepards pie. YUM.

I’m so happy for my sister and brother-in-law. I wish them a lifetime full of happiness.

happy birthday lola mae!

Today is Lola’s 8th birthday!

I can’t believe she’s been by my side all these years (since I was 16). She’s been the best companion ever. I can’t imagine life without her!

I’ve been pretty emotional all day. She has been such a huge part of my life, and the unconditional love she gives me makes my heart so full.

So of course I had to dedicate a whole blog post for my special girl.

She played with her new toy, and of course already broke all of the squeakers in it. I love being her furmama.

november: the month to be thankful.

Happy November…. we are months away from saying goodbye to 2016. I’m not sure I can even grasp that, or register how fast this year has flown by. This month is a month to be thankful: to be with friends and family, and to enjoy all the blessings in life. I sadly, won’t be spending my Thanksgiving with my family. I have a busy month ahead: sister’s wedding, school, prepping for something BIG (hope to share the news soon), and I’m moving! I’m not moving out of the bay area, just probably a different city, which I’m totally cool with. I commute to school, and to be honest, I want a shorter commute!!!

I hope everyone has a great month. I haven’t been posting as much as I’d like. School is seriously KILLING me. I am a full time student, so I have a lot of homework, readings, and tests. This is my first semester at SFSU, and although I’m loving it- it’s been stressful. But that’s life. Being a student is not easy!

This month is also exciting because I’ll get to celebrate blogging consistently for ONE WHOLE YEAR! I cannot wait to do a fun blog post for that! It’s something I’ve been enjoying so much, just for myself. It’s a huge accomplishment. Stay tuned for that.

So, I’m going to leave this with something I’m thankful for: the people who support me, and cheer me on to reach for my dreams. I’m thankful to have a very small group that love me, and want to see me succeed. (they know who they are)
