current reading list:

As many of you know, I love to read. Over summer, I read about 5 books. Although I’m  super busy with school, I still want to have time for myself. Here are a few books on my wishlist:

  1. Lily and the Octopus- This is actually something I’m CURRENTLY reading. I’m not very far, but I’m HOOKED. I won’t lie, I started bawling my eyes out on page 7 or something ridiculous. It’s so good. I can’t wait to finish this!lily-and-the-octopus-9781501126222_hr
  2. Christmas in Paris- I actually JUST ordered this from Barnes & Noble… so it should be arriving in my mailbox by the end of this week. So exciting. I have a new found love for Anita Hughes and read two of her books over summer vacation. I cannot wait to read this book during Christmas time. christmas-in-paris-by-anita-hughes
  3. Today Will Be Different- I have heard such positive things from this novel! I read “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” during summer break & loved it. So I think Maria Semple won’t disappoint with this book! 28449270
  4. The Woman in Cabin 10- This is a thriller/mystery book that people have been raving about. I am looking forward to getting my hands on a copy! I heard a lot of people read it for hours on end, not being able to put it down. (i love books like that) the-woman-in-cabin-10-9781508217749_hr

What are some books you’re dying to read? Have you read any on my list?

celebrating my twin’s bachelorette party!

Hi everyone! Long time no talk….. I’ve been so so busy with school & homework. SO MUCH HOMEWORK.

This past weekend I went down to Ventura to celebrate my twin sister’s bachelorette party! It was a small gathering of just me, my twin, her best friend, and our little sister. A lot of her other friends couldn’t make it— which was okay! We had fun and relaxing weekend (not a traditional bachelorette party)

We stayed in the Crowne Plaza in downtown Ventura, it was a nice hotel. We decorated it with balloons, confetti, candy and gifts! So happy my sister was surprised and loved it.

On Saturday, we spent the whole day in Ojai, it was a gorgeous day! Ojai was having a celebration with vendors, music, and food. Apparently it was Ojai Day and we didn’t even know! It ended up being perfect. The local library was having a book sale, with books ranging from 0.50-2.00, WHAT A STEAL. So of course we had to pick up some books.

Sunday, we drove to Santa Barbara for brunch. We went to a restaurant called Finch & Fork. I got the short ribs & sweet potato hash…. wow. IT WAS AMAZING.

My little sister, Stephanie.

Tonight I’m going to a Bon Iver concert in Oakland! I hope to take some cool pictures. I’m super excited because I haven’t been to a concert in years.

11 things to do when I’m twenty-four.

September 30th was my birthday! I turned 24 years old. My twin sister came up with her fiancé for the weekend & we celebrated together! We had so much fun. But I’m missing her already, and she only left 15 minutes ago.

We went to the cutest restaurant in downtown Palo Alto called Vino Locale. We sipped on some champagne & rosé (my favorite), and ate while a guitarist played live music. It was the cutest. The picture above is me and my gorgeous sisters. Love them!

I thought it would be super fun to come up with a list of things to do when I’m 24! So here we go….

  1. Travel Abroad. It’s time I get out of the United States and travel FAR AWAY. I’m talking Europe! I want to explore. So I think it’s time to finally see a different country. My top places to see are: France, Italy, England, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, and the list goes on. I’ll take what I can get. Time to be young, carefree, and live life. I’m only getting older…
  2. Focus on my studies. I’ve always loved school and trying my hardest getting good grades. But of course there is always room for growth and improvement. I want  to  get good grades, and even try to make Dean’s List! I made Dean’s List in community college a few semesters, and it was such a great feeling. I know I’m capable of doing it again!
  3. Drink more water. Super self explanatory. I want to drink more water. There’s so many health benefits that come with drinking water (healthy clear skin, fight fatigue, aids weight loss, and more) and it’s time I make more of an effort.
  4. Read more books. I love reading. But life can get pretty busy, and my books gather dust. I don’t want this to happen anymore. Over the summer I read about 5 books (and I could have read more) I loved it so much. It’s time to make an effort to read no matter what.
  5. Pay off unnecessary debt/ save money. Now this one is going to be tough, but probably one of the most important things I want have to do! Money can be a touchy subject with people, since it is so personal. But I need to pay off some bills and be more money savvy.
  6. Go to the beach more often. I love the ocean. I love listening to the waves, and smelling the salty air. I live in California, and I’m not that far away from the coast. I want to take more trips to the beach, and not to swim, but to relax- read a book, sit on a beach towel and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. Whether it’s Point Reyes, Stinson Beach, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, … I need more of it.
  7. Go to a concert. I haven’t been to a concert in years. I think it’s time to choose a great band, and go watch!
  8. Get a file cabinet for important documents. I’ve been meaning to do this one for a long time, but I keep putting it off. It’s super important to get documents in a safe place and organized, so they are easy to find. I’m an “adult” now, so it’s time I invest in a file cabinet. hah!
  9. Get my first facial at a spa. Turning 24 years old, I know it’s super important to take care of your skin! I can’t believe I’m in the stage of “preventing” wrinkles/fine lines, so I have nice skin when I’m older. So doing a facial will keep my skin radiant, slow the aging process, even skin tone, fade dark spots, etc. I have NEVER had a facial before, but have heard such wonderful things about them. I love serums, moisturizers, face masks- so I think it’s time to add this into my skincare routine monthly.
  10. Bake a pie from scratch. I’m not a good baker. I’m still very much a beginner, but something I’ve always wanted to do is bake a homemade pie. I have always bought pre-made crust, but this time it would be nice to bake a pie and do everything from scratch. Apple pie… it’s going to happen & I will document how it turns out! Be on the lookout & wish me luck!
  11. Write more. I love writing. Whether it’s for this blog or in a journal, it’s important for me to continue writing because it’s huge a passion of mine.
