my twin sister graduated college!

Hey everyone!

Last Friday I went to Los Angeles for my twin sister’s college graduation! We spent the weekend together, hanging out and going to her pre-graduation lunch on Sunday at the Cheesecake Factory at the Americana. On Monday, she had her graduation ceremony at CSUN. It was such an exciting day, and I couldn’t be more proud of my sister. She had spent two years commuting in traffic (everyone knows the 5 & 405 freeway sucks), endless hours of homework and studying, many books she had to read for her classes, and worked a part-time job on top of it! Words can’t describe how proud I am!

Look how happy she looks! This just gave me more motivation to finish and get my degree. It’s going to be so worth it.

My family: dad, twin sister, mom, little sister, and my grandma at the end!

So, today was my last day of Spring semester, and all my finals are DONE! I am so happy to relax all summer long, thank goodness! I plan to go on a little vacation, but don’t want to say where, as I’m not 100% sure and plane tickets aren’t booked… yet. But when I do, I will definitely post about it!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! I’m going to continue watching Forensic Files (my new addiction, it’s sooo good) and relax.

15 things you don’t know about me.

Hello lovelies,

I want to share 15 things about myself, so that you can get to know me on a more personal level. I recently read “25 things you don’t know about me” from Jillian Harris’ blog here. She is so cute! She inspired me to write my own, since I enjoyed reading hers so much. So here goes nothing…..

  1. Throughout middle school and high school my dream was to always go away to college in NYC. I was obsessed with the idea of living in NYC, but didn’t actually visit for the first time until I was 19 years old in 2012.
  2. When I finally visited NYC, I realized it was magical and beautiful, but not really for me to live. I had the best time, but I haven’t been back since. (future trip needs to happen!)
  3. My favorite color is pink. It’s been pink as long as I can remember.
  4. I am not a neat freak and I wish I was! What I mean by this is, I’ve noticed that having clutter or messes doesn’t stress me out like some people. My mother is very neat and organized, but sadly that didn’t get passed down to me. ha!
  5. When I was a child, we used to live on an acre of land for five years, and we had chickens! I used to be in charge of giving them fresh water, and picking up the eggs they laid.
  6. Which leads me into: one day I want to have my own little farmhouse with land, where I am able to have my own chickens (like 3 or 4)! Nothing beats fresh farm eggs, seriously! I want my children to grow up with land and nature, so they have an appreciation for it.
  7. I have fresh flowers in my home at all times (mostly in my living room and kitchen). Whether it’s tulips, roses, hydrangeas, peonies, or sunflowers…. it makes me happy, so I treat myself to pretty flowers.
  8. The older I get, the more I realize I am not a “career” driven person, and I don’t want to be. I don’t want to have this mindset of “living to work”, instead I would rather “work to live” & focus on more important things in my life, since life is so short. I refuse to be that person who breathes, sleeps, eats, and lives for work. No thanks.
  9. One of my main goals in life is to be a mother, and stay home with my children.
  10. If I’m watching television, I’m most likely on HGTV or BRAVO channel! I love my t.v. time.
  11. One day, I hope to take a risk and move out of the U.S. My top picks are the countrysides of Italy or France.
  12. I am obsessed with Rose gelato! If you’re ever in San Francisco, go to Little Italy, it’s a place called Gelateria Naia. You will LOVE IT!!
  13. I move way too much. I’ve moved more than 10 times in my lifetime so far, in about 10 different cities, and I’m only 23. (CRAZY!!!)
  14. I love the ocean, but I refuse to go into the ocean. I have a weird phobia/fear of drowning (although I can swim) and deathly afraid of big waves/tsunamis, and sharks. When my bf and I went to Maui August of 2014, I would only go in knee deep! I’m crazy, I know, but I do love sitting on the sand and watching the waves/getting a tan. This means I will not snorkel or surf….
  15. A new found hobby of mine is gardening! Growing up I’d always watch my parents tend to their plants, fruit trees and gardens… it wasn’t until recently that I found a new appreciation and love for taking care of my own plants. I owe this to my parents because they always showed so much love and interest in nature and plants. I got this from them, I grew up with them being outside and tending to their garden, watering their plants, and showing me/telling me about the different fruit trees. These are things I cherish forever and pass on to my children.

Some of my plants… and Lola of course!

That’s 15! I hope you learned more about me! Tell me somethings about YOU that I don’t know! I’d love to know.

new hair: time for some change.

Happy MAY!

I’ve been a little MIA… as I’ve been busy with school, trying to focus on myself and not super inspired to write lately. I’ve been feeling a little anxious and just trying to do my best not to get into these weird funks, but that’s life.

As another month comes and goes, I’m looking forward to a lot this month. My little sister is turning 20 years old, spring semester ends (omg, couldn’t come sooner), and my twin sister graduates from university! So that means I get to see my family in L.A. the end of the month. YAY!

But there has been a good change, yesterday (the 1st of May) I decided to chop off some of my hair. I love the way it looks, and I love change. This is a before: my hair is super long.

This is after:

I cut off about 6-7 inches. I feel a lot better, airy and light! I want to go shorter eventually, but I really need to lose some weight first, as I don’t want my little round face to look so chunky. (haha!)

I hope everyone has a great week! I am counting down the days until spring semester is over. Finals are right around the corner, and I need to do good in my statistics class so I can move on and go to university this fall! That is my MAIN goal right now, and where I’m putting all of my focus.
